Recently I have been exploring anew what it can offer to us when we engage with more of our senses within the counselling room.
One way in which I have been doing this within my own life has been through the use of tactile objects such as stones or shells. Allowing ourselves to unhurriedly notice the texture, shape, weight and temperature of an object can provide us with a (sometimes rare) moment of stillness in our often busy lives. It can reconnect us in the moment with the wonder of nature. It can allow us to increase our sensitivity to the small, quiet joys that can be garnered from everyday life.
I wonder what other meanings using objects such as stones and shells may have for you?
